Well, blame it on technology and the laziness of most to type or write properly. However, some people who use short cuts do not necessarily mean they are lazy. Students like you, however, should strive harder to attain the best you could in English grammar.
I advise you though to be very discreet about your observations and writing it online. Do not forget that some countries do not teach the English language to the students. Students later on decide whether they'll take ESL as another course. What I mean is, it's the student's prerogative to learn or not.
It's not bad to be idealistic, just don't overdo it. Sometimes, it gets
on the nerves of people. Luckily I am not one of those because I understand your feelings. I've been there, trust me. Right now I am in a country where English seems to be spoken just the way people like it. Believe me, you'll go crazy.
Take my advice, JUST KEEP YOUR COOL!!!
Oh by the way, texting should really be limited only to mobile phones and chat rooms.

its grammar not grammer....
I decided to be nice to you, given it was an honest mistake. Feel proud you know how to properly use grammar and spelling most of the time. Look at it this way, all those people who are below your intelligence, probably will work at a burger joint for the rest of their lives. Their weakness just reflects your strength. It is frustrating to see what our educational system has offered. The generations below you may know how to use a computer, but that ability alone will get them nowhere further then you will ever go.

I agree, maybe it's old school, but, I enjoy reading a good comment spelled correctly and using proper grammar.
The truth is abbreviations were invented and took off like wildfire to accommodate text messaging.
It's all about communicating.

I really wonder about some of America's intelligence levels. I understand what you mean fully. A lot of people on here don't speak or type clear English. I think it is so lazy.

No offense, but it's "grammar". You look pretty silly going on a diatribe about spelling when you make careless mistakes like that yourself. You might want to spell-check first next time.

erm it's grammAr (sorry)
if it's good spelling/grammar you're after, you might be better of *not* looking here - there are a few people who bother to type well, but not many......
