Make sure you are using a continental service grip. Also, on itunes and youtube, there are videos of pros' serves. Watch those, and it will help you learn how they gain pace and spin! In the app store for apple, there's an app called Tennis App (not very original) that's very helpful! It's actually a newsfeed for tennis articles, but if you click on downloads, there are videos of the Bryan Brothers and Jelena Jankovic doing different strokes in slow motion, and you can watch part by part. (Ex. Watching the toss, then the knee bend, etc.)

If you can learn top spin on all your shots including your serve it'll make it easier. Learn it using forehand first then serve, it's a little harder doing it serving because your trying to hit over the ball while it's at it's highest point.

Revising the complete movement of your whole body, the place were yoou hit the ball, one good advice is tho have your coach watching your movement and revise it with him, then only proctice and work hard on it can improve your serve. Changing the spin on your serve coul be a good tip.

Try this , it should help you right away. If your serve is going into the net make your toss into your body a bit more. This will force you to hit up on the ball . It should make an impact immediately.

First throw the ball up high and hit the ball with the racket and make sure the ball hits the middle of the racket so it goes high enough so it goes over the net! Plus put some force into your arm so it hits the ball hard!

Lower the net...lol...j/k
When you are serving, do you focus on the net? If so, that's your problem...find out what you seem to be focusing on, then focus a bit further. It worked for me.
Hope this helps.

You lift the ball then the regular one so that it won't touch the net during your service
