I did not choose you to answer my question. You chose to answer mine.
I did of course ask my OB. is it bad to ask other people (especially those who were prgnant and had taken the medication)? to ask for other opinion.
dont reply to any questions that u think should be asked to someone else. Yahoo! Answers does not need people like you. an u know why people dont ask doctors? because they are totally LIKE YOU.
so lame..

Amoxicillin is in the FDA pregnancy category B. This means that it is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Amoxicillin is generally considered to be safe for use during pregnancy

your doc would not have given you anything that was harmful to your baby without telling you there are risks. that is their job. There are medication categories that are divided into risk factors for pregnant women. they categorize them based on studies done in the past and the effect they think it will have on the baby. They do not give small children the high risk ones after they are born even. They give amoxicillan to small children. Unless anyone in your family has had a past allergic reaction to that group of drugs and your doc doesn't see a problem, then it should be fine.

I got really bad sinus infections during each of my three pregnancies and had to take amoxicillin. It is completely safe and will not harm the baby.

Hi, i'm a student nurse and i had a homework about amoxicillin yesterday, and yes...amoxicillin is considered safe during pregnancy and i dont think your OB would prescribe amoxicillin if it wasn't safe.

As far as doctors prescribing meds that aren't harmful to the baby that isn't always true. Please ask your pharmacist whenever you have questions about meds. I had 2 different doc offices through out 2 different pregnancies prescribe things harmful to babies. They were both OB doc. Offices. After having a miscarriage I have learned to question the meds. I am being given. I now ask my pharmacist bc they know the meds better than the doc.

If your doctor prescribes it, then it is safe. Your doctor is not going to give you something that would harm you or the baby.

If your OB prescribed then it is probably OK, but why didn't you question HER? People come here and state theat their doctor prescribed this or that, or administered a test, then ask US what it all means! Have you people ever thought of asking - YOUR DOCTOR? This is really pitiful.
