For the last 56 years the Palestinian Refugees are living in a United Nation Refugee Camps waiting for UN to implement the UN Security Council resolutions.
For the last 56 years Israel conducts collective punishment and state terror against the Palestinian Refugees.
A viable Palestine means a viable Israel and no viable Palestine means no viable Israel and wars go on between the two people.
No one could NOT change his mind unless he has no mind.
Occupying other people by force is losing policy in the past and now and has no future.

I think they're 18 writers, 3 Nobel recipients, voicing an opinion. Nothing in that description implies authority and/or credibility regarding the international legal status of Israel, Palestine, or anything else over in that area.
Their entire argument is predicated on this partial phrase, "whereas the illegal military occupation of the West Bank".
This assumes the occupation of the West Bank is, in fact, illegal. This is a matter of some contention, having to do with cease fire lines, legitimacy of the Israel mandate to begin with, whether officlal borders are recognized by both sides, etc.
It's certainly an issue that's complicated enough that if you say "Israel is illegally occupying the West Bank", you should attempt to prove it before you proceed with your argument.
If, in fact, Israel is illegally occupying the West Bank, and if they're repressing the Palestinian peoples' legitimate rights to the land, then it's a fantastic short snippet of an article.
As I said, however, this issue isn't exactly black and white, so they need to prove that that's the case before making their emotional appeals.

I think this region of the world has a long and sordid history of hate and war. I think with the United States presence there many of them will find a reason to unify and fight as one. I don't buy for a minute that Israel was just sitting by drinking it's lemonade and this "terrorist faction" as they call them launched missiles. Does this make me anti-Semitic ? I suppose no more then questioning the military presence of the United States in Iraq makes me a traitor to some. How the truth is marred when one hasn't a credible defense.
