At 30 grams they are quite a good weight. They need to stay with the mother for 12 weeks until they are weaned. Make sure Dad is not about as he will impregnate mum straight away. Make sure mum has plenty of good food incuding Hay to provide for the twins.

With our toddlers' pets we used themed names or properly-enjoyed people so Bailey, vodka and tonic have been 3 guinea pigs from a similar clutter and Bamber and Gascoigne the place 2 cats. Natasha and Kaplinsky are my favourites for the subsequent pair of pets we get yet possibly Bamber and Gascoigne would artwork to your boy chinchillas. Have a non violent yuletide

i have a breeding pair of chins and they have had 3 babies so far i never weighed the babies after they were born i separated the mother and baby from the father until the baby chin was big enough to eat on its own. i never had a problem the mother aways took care of the baby. if you think you are having a problem call a vet to make sure. but mostly the mom does all the work

30 grams is very small. Were their eyes open at birth? If not I would guess they were born premature. My kits average about 45-55 grams at birth. They will loose a few grams after birth and then will slowly regain but even after loosing, 30 grams is small. If this is your chinchilla's first litter I wouldn't worry because the first one tends to have smaller weights, but if she is averaging 30 grams in all of her litters I would take her out of breeding or put her with a better quality male to try for bigger healthier kits.
