is my boyfriend thinking of marrying me?!!?

Question

i've been w/my bf for 18 months now. i'm 27,and mother of 3 girls-my bf tells them he loves them all the time. he's 28, no kids,never married. we don't live together and don't always talk everyday-we both wrk nites.

his longest relationship was in high school-dated for 3 years. she left him for another guy and got married to him. last time she tried to contact him was in 2002-wrote an email saying she was sorry she hurt him,hoped he was doing well and happy,and wanted to be friends still. he didnt write her back till 2005 a month before he met me-all he sent her was a song "i'll love you always and forever." by donna lewis-but said nothing else. he never wrote her again and she hasn't written back.

while in the car w/him last week he asked out of the blue where to buy jewelry. i started to say it depends on what it is-necklace,bracelet..he stopped me and said it was a ring. i told him some places and he asked me where to find them. nothing else has been said. ideas?!!

no birthdays in his family are coming up, he has no female friends-hardly talks to the males ones anymore since dating me...

my birthday is in february along w/our anniversary...nxt big holiday is christmas

can't be a gift for my girls either-they are too young-ages 4,5,and 7

and he talks about our future all the time-any big decision involves a "we" not "I"

He might be giving you hints,but it doesn't
mean he'll actually do it anytime soon.
I wouldn't try to force him or pressure him
if I were you,thats not ever a good idea.
If you really love him,then try enjoying his
company and who he is without expecting
a huge commitment like marriage so soon.
Let it happen naturally on it's own. men are
not all that stupid. When it's right,he'll ask you,
but for now,he may just be thinking about it?
It doesn't mean he will do anything yet.
Love him and enjoy him!!!

I think its kind of strange that he asked you where he could get a ring from, and he didn't have anyone else to ask unless he was trying to prompt you to get him to talk about marriage. Guys are terrible that way, with expressing our feelings and what not. But I'd like to believe that if he really loves you, he wouldn't of told you that for no reason because then that puts ideas in your head which he may have been going for.

If he did it for any other reason, then he is not thinking clearly because that is just a set up to hurt your feelings and hopefully that's not it. I'd give it a bit of time and maybe bring up getting married one day if that's what you "TRULY" want from him. He may have put it out there to see your response and depending on how you act over the next while will probably determine where his heart truly is. Expect him to flip flop a bit or be nervous about this and that's ok. Give him time, and if he loves you, then you should have a ring around your finger in due time. Hope this helps...

Stop trying to guess, you'll drive yourself batty.
Give it a week. See what develops. If nothing, then chalk it up to a whim of his and leave it at that.

Unless, of course, you want to just ask why he's thinking about a ring.
