use a good brand of makeup remover (i love estee lauder or, for a lot less, almay) and rinse it off very well. before you go to sleep put just a dab of vaseline on your lashes to moisturize them and fully remove makeup- this makes your lashes a lot softer and healthier, and rids you of any extra makeup residue. it is also always a good idea to use eye creams at night to make up for any damage you have already done to the skin around your eyes. ..i have to agree that you can get away with not removing your makeup for now, but in the end you will definately pay the price.. washing your face is critical because your skin recovers at night and if you leave your pores clogged, the effects are never good. find a face wash that suits your skin type and keep up a good regime.
best of luck i hope this helps some!

I use a separate eye make up remover to deal with stubborn mascara and eyeliner first. Then I use a cleansing oil or cleansing lotion/cream all over the face and neck to remove the rest and rinse it off with warm water.
After that just follow your usual skin care routine of washing with foaming cleanser, wipe with toner, apply treatment, moisturizer and then eye cream. Others go straight to the toner and skip the cleanser becaue they feel the make up remover has done the job but I don't because I fear leftover grime will leave me with acne. Pays to be sure.

For those nights when you're really tired and tempted to just go to sleep, leave a pack of those Oil of Olay wipes by your bed. The come in packs almost like baby wipes in the skin care aisle with the other stuff. Not the best for everyday, but better than sleeping in your makeup!

You need to remove your makeup before bed, because while your sleeping your skin is rejuvenating itself. Your skin needs to breath. By leaving your makeup on, your clogging your pores (pimples appear), and your skin will not be able to rejuvenate causing wrinkles and spots later in life. 5 steps to good skin care:
Cleanse, Exfoliate, Tone, Moisturize and Protect.
At the minimum, use a good cleanser and moisturizer. Mary Kay offers a set that completes the 5 steps in 3. They also have a teen skin care line.

Mineral oil (non scented) is a cheap way to remove eye makeup. You should wash your face with something gentle for 1 minute every night too. (try Aveeno products). The face wash removes all the pollution, dirt, makeup and oils that are trapped on your face.

I use Mary Kay's eye makeup remover. You barely rub your eyes to get it off...awesome stuff! Then I use the Mary Kay timewise cleanser or the Velocity Cleanser (also Mary Kay). Velocity products are great if you have blemish prone skin or acne. Don't forget to moisturize! It helps your skin to stay moisturized like a grape instead or a raisin!

First, use an eye make-up remover then wash your face with a mild soap and warm water. Use facial scrub once or twice a week. Apply toner then moisturizer. I currently use L'Oreal and it suits my skin well :-)

basically.. Dont do a whole.. Make-up remover wipe.. Then soap and water.. then facial scrub.. then proactive etc etc etc.. cause it will dry out your skin. Just Plain and simply.. use make-up removal wipes. Works great and does not leave break-outs
