These could be Braxton Hicks. Braxton Hicks are "fake" contractions. They should happen around 18 weeks on. If the spasms continue for periods longer than an hour and are of a constant rate eg. 15 minutes apart (spasms lasting for 15 secs or more), you should advise your midwife or obstetrician. Braxton hick spasms should be unco-ordinated contractions occuring sporadically. You need to access your spasms and monitor them closely. If in doubt. ALWAYS consult your Doctor/Obstetrician!

Do you feel like you are leaking fluid? If so call your doctor ASAP. I jsut losta baby girl at 21 weeks. I felt slight pressure in my lower stomach and found out after I started spotting that I was actually in labor. The doctor told me that labor at that gestation will not actually feel like labor. It is always best to ask your doctor.

i know that i had braxton hix contractions and i know that it is normal but i know that it also feels like regular ones. one thing that you can do it look at a site for a company called Matria and or ask your dr. about it. what it does is monitor your contractions from your home. i was on it then they put me on the tributiline pump. because i was actually having normal contractions so they had to stop them because i was having a boy. so ask your dr about the matria belt to monitor them from home instaed of going to the hospital everytime.
