She believes him because he's her son, and mothers always want to believe the best when it comes to their kids...especially when it comes to things like this. It's easier to for him to blame the girl, and it's easier for his mother to go along with it right now. Maybe he was afraid of how his mother would react, or manipulating her, or a combination of both. Maybe the girl lied to him and told him she was using birth control (which doesn't negate his responsibility to practice the same, but in that case he would feel that he was tricked). Young people do and say strange things in situations like this. I hope that your wife has the good sense to take off the rose-coloured glasses and be supportive of both of them in a healthy way.

There is no good answer to this question. Some people take responsibility for their actions and some do not. It has a lot to do with the way they were raised.
And if Mama's boy can do no wrong, so why did you expect him to be responsible? If he is that easily "tricked" then someone should point out just how "stupid" he must be.

dont know why she believes him but she must be as stupid as he is ilresponsible.(no offense) but she really needs to look at the big picture hes just as responsible for what he does with his peter as the girl that let him plow her garden. that kids the type of person that causes us to pay more taxes because he wont take care of him own kid. just him not being responsible for his kids makes me sick i had a father that wasnt there for me and for awhile i was pissed at the world i got over it but it still didnt make it right. that kid needs to learn to be responsible put some stucture in his life if hes young enough send him to military school it'll do him some good. I wish someone would've sent me when i was a teen.

Sounds like my family, always blaming the other person, its so much easier that way, you dont have to feel like a crappy parent and that your kid is worthless. It sucks to have such an irresponsible kid sorry, see if he will get fixed! Wish that where possible!
