Reporting it to the police only helps if you think it was stolen and you think you know who took it. Or if you have replacement insurance for your phone. Very few cell phones are recovered. I am sorry about your phone. I hop this helps.

HOW TO DISABLE UR STOLEN CELL FONE

Hi Friend !

Well I understand your feeling and feel sorry for the loss of cell phone.. Do you have the serial number of ur phone ... Check your bill...

From next time when you have a cell with you, do this :

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 # ...

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

Should your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card your phone will be totally useless.

You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody did this, there would be no point in stealing mobile phones.

NOTE: Forward this to your entire circle of friends even if u do not possess a cell-phone.

The policy at most police offices is not do anywork and invistigate what could have happened, but to record the incident put it into a file so if they seize property in a bust or someone submits it the lost and found. They are only going to investigate if they think the theft has somthing to do with more than just petty crime.

Stolen cellphones rarely if ever are found. The one reason for contacting the police is to establish a record of when the phone was stolen. You then need to send a copy of this report to your wireless provider. Without this report, the wireless provider may attempt to charge you for all the calls made on your phone even though you are not the one using it. My dad was charged for calls from New York when he lives in Massachusetts.

Dude, contacting the police for grand theft auto doesn't even work. If your car is stolen they don't look into it. They just put it on a list of stolen cars, so if they just happen to run across it they'll know who to return it to. We're talking about $10,00 to $40,000 automobiles. You think they're going to give a damn about a $200 cell phone?

you are just wasting your time waiting for your stolen mob. contacting police wont help you get your mobile back, but to have the complain done is very important as it helps you block your sim being used by others and if you have serial no of your mob you can get your mob blocked it will not work. with police complain you can have new sim issued with same number

With the IMEI type of your cellular it would want to truthfully be traced by technique of the police. for this reason it truly is major you inn a criticism with the police first. mutually tell your provider provider also.
