Most of the pervs I talk to online I wouldnt trust. However we just talk online and there is nothing going to become of our friendship. Other normal people I try to talk to in depth and get to know them, after a couple months of in depth talking to them I begin to trust that they are good people. I would never trust anyone 100% strickly online without getting to know them in person first.

I don't trust people on the net but I enjoy talking to different individuals and only talk about general subjects, still I made some friends on the Internet so people might just be honest and just interested in making new friends.
