israel wanted to make hezbollah put its weapons down but israel couldnt do that so we cant call it the winner.
hezbollah wanted to save his people and deffend them and he could do it and made israel to go back and accept ceasefire.ofcourse if israel was the winner he would never accept the ceasefire.and hezbollah accept it because from the begining he wanted no war (he wanted and wants just lebanon people from israel.)
so hezbollah is the winner

There is a saying "In war there are no winners, merely those who lost the least." Such is the case for this war. There can be no such thing as a "victor" when both sides killed civilians and destroyed private property. It is my hope that Israel has simply created enough havoc on Hizbollah that they will back off for a while. But they are far from finished. They will be back to hunt Israel again. Then the losing will begin.

First, don't have self assurance each thing Bush says. no longer thousands and thousands of UNARMED CIV&childrens, yet somewhat thousands and thousands of destiny Hizbollah were killed. There aren't any Lebanese in Southern Lebanon. All are Hizbollah. Israel also managed to remove some old missile stockpiles. So, that they had opt to purchase new ones from united states. it really is why the united states dragged the UN determination for therefore long.

The objectives of the Israeli invasion were:
1. Release of the two soldiers
2. Disarming Hezbollah
Which one was achieved?

Nobody won; that's why it's called a "cease fire". You don't need both sides to agree to stop shooting if there's a defined winner.
