I can see this country going as the Roman Empire did, if you have been following current events the President is trying to take away the powers of the state by taking control of the State's National Guard during a time of Emergency, by passing the Governor's veto, some of the last checks and balances that have been left in place by the fore fathers. I see the sheep in this country give up freedom after freedom in the name of security and I am sorry they feel that way. I am waiting for Homeland Security to start instituting roadblock searches of vehicles based on the fact that you are on a public road and the public needs to be protected. It seems as Homeland Security is resembling the Praetorian Guard of the Romans, Congress is starting to look as corrupt as the Roman senate, and Mexico is looking allot like the Germanic tribes of the North. So the next fifty years I see America having a lot less freedoms, but be proud as you will be a citizen of an Empire.

in the next 50 years: schools will stop teaching the constitution of the united states. historical revisionists will portray people like christopher columbus and the pilgrims as villains. new catch phrases will be developed by the media and the supreme court to further misinterperet the constitution. "freedom from religion" will be a big one. the patriot act will be expanded further, to include provisions for house to house searches by UN soldiers. not police UN SOLDIERS. because the republicans will lose the next election and the democrats will start a slippery slope toward giving soveregnty of the US to the UN. ordinary people will not be allowed to travel without mandatory complete bag searches. anything the TSA agent wants of your stuff they can take. there will be no privacy. there will be cameras aimed at everything. firearms will be illegal, but gang members and criminals will have guns. taxes will be higher, freedom will be next to nonexistent, and national security will not exist, due to gangs of pillaging UN criminals. the wealthiest 5% of americans will hold 128% of the wealth in america. that is because the rest of us will be taxed and billed into debt. there will be "terrorist cells" made up of armed men living in the woods in freedom rather than in slavery. from time to time they will attack something or be attacked and the government will rachet down "security" some more. This is all based on trend analysis and standard american attitudes and practices.

Oh thats easy!

1)Illegals coming here will not assimilate because there are too many to absorb. Where they settle they will turn it into like mexico.
2)Socialists will dominate politics due to immigrants demanding social benefits, this will cause higher taxes, meaning less buisinesses, growth, and a weaker economy overall.
3)Social Security will be broke and the elderly will demand they get their benefits and they will demand their "fair share"...most likely we'll take it from the military
4)Lack of moral absolutes will result in are narcissistic populace, crime, teen pregnancy, and poverty will rocket through the roof.
5)Racial conflicts will arise because the most increases in socioeconomic occur with Asians and Whites. Whites and Asians will be the "priveldged" minority, which will create resent among Latins and Blacks...stay tuned to sea huge affirmative action programs and transfers of wealth through the government.
6)Our trade imbalance will come home to roost.
7)We will become a ghost of what we once were. We will still be a power but the high taxes, unsustainable social programs and social unrest will slow economic growth and it will paralyze our will to act on the world stage. Isolation sets in and we are one step away from a dicatorship ala the rise of Hitler or the rise of Caesar.

Crippled by stupidity, propoganda, ignorance and greed as well as being environmentaly poisoned. Get your lazy As*es out of the comfort zone or America will be populated by a race of caveman marionettes. If your happy doing the bidding of a few very, very wealthy individuals without questioning the reasons, carry on, and suffer the consequences.

Much of the U.S. will be under water in 50 years. The rest will be on fire. In fact, some of the water's surface surrounding the shore will also be on fire. It will be quite a spectacular sight. Too bad no one will be left to see it.

We will be strong and free. That is the good part about America... Sooner or later we all get sick of the stupid politicians in both parties and say I AM SICK OF THIS AND I AM NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE and take back our country and fix our problems.

The entire world is in a mess. I just don't know where we're all going (and I'm a Canadian. It would be easy to bash the states)

But world seems to be in upheaval.
