Norton is garbage. You may want to check out AVG at www.grisoft.com

Norton Security Suite really is highly recommended by IT professionals. It is the COMPLETE security for your computer. We use it on all of the computers within the company I work, it's that effective.

It combines an anti-virus product, with an Internet Firewall. It is also able to detect and protect you from spy-ware, and other malicious threats. It even has parental control, so can restrict which sites users of your computer can see, or not see!

It will run on your computer, and constantly provide protection. Also you get I think the first year free updates, so you will always be protected from the latest threats.

The main features as follows (what more could you want)...

Detects and blocks spyware, viruses, and adware
Automatically blocks intruders and identity thieves
Automatically filters spam and dangerous phishing email
Blocks Web sites you don’t want your children to visit
Gives you control over all incoming and outgoing Internet traffic
Automatically scans email and instant-message attachments and removes viruses, Trojan horses, and worms
Includes Norton AntiVirus™, Norton™ Personal Firewall, Norton Privacy Control, Norton AntiSpam, and Norton Parental Control

I am the one that voted for the other guy that said notton I got that and it is great! but that is not enought your right spyware doctor is right what you need I think I can give you a link right of my spyware doctor to the site you will need $19.95 to buy the full version and I hope you do cause that will remove things from the time you get the full version on back and from then on in real time on your computer and it works side by side with norton's perfectly I am very very happy with both programs and it detects everything it should. you might have to do scans by starting them up yourself if you been somewhere you shouldn't but you will get into that later when you configure the program and here is the link

I don't know. I've had Norton so long I can't even remember when I got it, and I've never had any problems with it. Try Symantec's other antivirus, I think they have one called "Symantec Antivirus," that might be better. Symantec is a big corporation, and it's always better to go with the big companies than those small independent sites.

Zone Alarm is an excellent Firewall. Spybot's an excellent Anti-Spyware program. AVG, Mcafee etc are also good. Its always good in keeping multiple antispyware programs coz sumthing detected in 1 may not b detected in another. Best Antispywares r always free.

first, let me tell you this, no Anti-Virus software is good enough, because the virus IS ALWAYS one step ahead. the only guaranteed step to avoid virus is to change your OS, because the viruses are built to attack Windows platform.

i suggest you to change to LINUX. get LINUX RedHat or LINUX Fedora if you think you cannot survive without graphical-user-interface. trust me, LINUX is good...
