We'll probably be able to see each other...if we choose. Instead of Avatars or icons....or even photographs...we'll have live feed inserts...and it will be the next best thing to actually being there...although, I think I'd rather be evaluated by my words rather than my appearance. It is nice to be known for who you are as a person before you are evaluated by physical attributes. Sometimes that can get in the way...in both positive and negative ways. Also, it might confine such things as Q & A to real time instead of a span of hours or days. On the other hand...it would be like having our own lil' mini talk shows!

1.) Broad nanotech advancements - lots of big things happen due to the advanced manufacture of little, little stuff. Think: drugs that target problems...life expectancy raised to around 150...lots of Star Trek tech. ETA 2020

2.) Artificial Intelligence - AI on a par with human intelligence becomes a part of everyday life. ETA 2050

3.) Singularity - the AI is smarter than us and can theorhetically do all the thinking for us. ETA 2100

Anybody's guess after that. The damn robots will dictate everything from that point on.
