You have touched upon a very critical issue in India.Reservations can never solve problems of any nation.Do you think that an OBC will be treated well only because of his educational qualifications which everyone knows that he has reached that commanding position only because of reservations.On the other hand there are people who are burning the midnight oil only to score well in CETs but they don't get selected only because of the OBCs get those seats.Reservations is the greatest misery of India.Even though the OBCs get admissions in good colleges/institutions but they later drop their education because they cant cope up with the things taught.So reservations should be scrapped out and everyone including the OBCs should stand for this decision for the betterment of the country.

Spoon feeding to the backward class is not the right thing. They are more wealty than the others.They have farms, lands, factories, money, incomes from interest, they are much well off.
All this makes them think that they are the bosses, and thus they
dont want to persue education etc.

The vote Bank tactics of the Politicians is the root cause of this disgusting system of reservation. It is a evil, to be burnt off.

Imagine, a student stuidying very hard, is intelligent, gets 95% marks, yet has to gface competetion to secure an admission. After getting admitted, imagine the horror of attending class with t\his fellow student on the next table, a Dalit maybe, who has secured only 45% marks but got admission due to reservation.

The provision for quota/reservation was initially for the period of 20 years. This was to basically to provide the education & upliftment ST/SC not OBCs.
From last 60 years the Govt have failed to provide WATER/POWER/FOOD/HOME/WORKor to JOB in rural or urban INDIA it should be shameful of Govt to keep the quota system for their political objectives.
Govt. of india should focus to do what is their job rather than playing cheap tatics or with emotions of people.
Furthur, If Govt claims the INDIA is really move to 21st century where is question of caste & creed in todays world.
The message should be clear to all - If you achieve to goal of your life, you have work hard. Reservations have never help anyone to achieve what one wants in life.

not at all correct!!! hey even scs and sts are rich & influential these days, and get wot they want!! they're in the police, civil services et all. moreover, reservation doesnt solve their probs of elementary edu.
and above all, the elite institutions need to maintain the league of stars passing out every year,that shine in the whole world and "include a number of the backward classes"

For thousands of years work has been entrusted as per your caste. If you are a brahmin all "karma kanda" are reseved for you.If you are Vaishy you are reserved for trade. If you are a shudra you are reserved for doing SAFAI job only.This is still continuing in rural India. If reservation is to go, the above reservation should also go.

depends who u are talking to.
for a politicial it is correct as that is a way to keep the country divided and for them to get votes.
for development of society and uplift the poor. no.. all it does it provide seats in colleges to lalu and paswan's son.
the original provision was for probably for 5 years and extended for another five years.
better solution is to make education facilities better. Education is India is really good for those who can affored or reach it. But then that would make people educated and then who would vote for those murdrers, thiefs and criminals sitting in parliament and government.
