Americans who hate the French oddly enough hate them because they have similarities between them. The French are often seen as arrogant, just like Americans. The French seem to believe they are superior to everyone else, just so with the Americans. The French do not like it when others do not speak their native language, exactly as Amercians.

I don't think that they do. There are some French attitudes that rub Americans the wrong way (such as trying to keep foreign words out of the language), and the reverse is no doubt true also. Also, the French government has been of little help in dealing with terrorist issues -- particularly Iraq, where the ministers were busily taking hundreds of millions in bribes to be nice to the Saddam regime. My biggest complaint about the French government, however, is that it buckled under pressure to not improve employment laws -- an action that will keep the French impoverished for the next generation. France needs its own Margaret Thatcher to clean up the mess.

Americans dislike the French because we think since we saved their butts in WWII they should forever show respect, and that is good up to a point, but they really cave into the large muslim population they have there that affects their politics greatly these days so we are not going to get along on the surface anyway.

Not all Americans do. But, it is well-known here, how critical and insulting the French can be, about Americans.
That could explain a lot of the animosity toward the French.

i dont hate french people...but americans tend to hate the french because they aren't with america for the war and political stuff like that
