I've done one and it hurt bad. I have friend that did the other and he said it also hurt like hell. Anyone been unfortunate enough to experience both and compare them to one and other?

i would have to say the knee - I dislocated my shoulder and as much as it hurt the therapy took about as half as long as I'm told the knee therapy takes - the acl injury is a year long process if you hit it hard and if you don't, you'll be spending time at the physical therapists table getting your scar tissue broken up which *******' hurts pretty bad - I saw a 300 pound lineman crying after the scar tissue had to be busted up when I played in college -

Never blew out my knee (thankfully)... The problem here is that there are varying degrees of separating a shoulder. One of the type IV-VI separations may be more painfull because: 1. all shoulder ligaments holding the collar bone to the shoulder blade are torn. 2. The rotator cuff muscles are torn 3. the collarbone is severely deplaced and is possibly impaled through or in between muscles it shouldn't be going through.

However, as counter example my separation was relatively mild separation, my guess, probably type II. It was a bit weird, I really didn't recognise there was a problem until I tried to lift my arm, and I was still able to ride down the mountain! But man did it hur to lift the arm. If I were to choose between my injury and a knee blowout, I think I'd probably choose my injury.

Definitely blowing out a knee.based on the length of time it takes for the injury to heal, even if the pain level were at first the same , blowing out your knee would hurt for a much longer time.

The knee definitely. I've broken an ankle ( 2 bones ),dislocated both shoulders ( at different times thank god ) and tore the ACL in my left knee. ( I know I'm a clumsy bastard )
The knee was by far the worst.Took forever to heal, was painful all the time, and you can't get around very well without it.
The ankle was a close 2nd.

How could you possibly rate such a thing? I'm having a cold sweat just thinking about either one.

i hear the knee is bad simply because it can often set out out for up to a year (with a torn ACL).
