I teach Sign language, and kids who have a hard time learning other languages usually find sign language easier.
Also, You can communicate with people who are deaf and hard of hearing, and it can open up career options for you that learning German or french simply wouldn't do.And, there isn't a big state test at the end of the course. (At least not in New York).

Definitely sign language. You will be able to get a good job working with the deaf community if that is something you are interested in. German and French won't really help you.

DEFINITELY sign language. I sign, and I have met many interesting deaf/mute people. I think it's because they have so few oppurtunities to express themselves. Also you will have the ability to talk across rooms in noisy places and in meetings without getting bollocked (theoretically). If not then German, because Germany is beautiful and the German people are excellent. And good beer.

Well, I would say Chinese. Knowing this language would be helpful because they are the world's fastest growing economy. But sign language will be good also. I think this way of communcating is most meaningful because there aren't a real high percentage of people who knows this form of communication.

My personal choice would be sign language.
In the US not many people speech German of french.
But there are many deaf people who are usually able to communicate with only a small group of people.
I learned sign language and found it very useful and helpful.
It always make a deaf person very happy to communicate with others!!
