Female Hygene...?

Question

Why do women douch? What are the pros and cons? How do u do it?

Don't get me wrong, im not a 9 yr old or anything. Im 22, i just never stank or anything and never understood why u would douch...

I dont know why they do such a thing, but you should avoid doing so as instead of beaing cleaner you are also eliminating the microorganisms that live in your vag and those are the ones who fight againts the intruders that can cause you a good candidiasis or so. As far as I know you should take a normal shower cleaning well with neautral soap all the outer part and for inside you might just insert an inch of 1 finger with no soap and gently remove at once any fluid and there you are no need for the douch

There is actually no hygienic or medical reason to ever douche. It is not recommended at all by doctors. Some women do it to feel "clean", but there is no need to. Before birth control was available, women used to douche (sometimes with harsh things, like coca cola!) right after sex b/c they thought it would prevent pregnancy (not a good method of birth control...)
So basically, there is no reason at all to do it, but if you do, don't do it often, or it can lead to irritation and infection.

I know this is going to odd coming from a man but I was married.:) Women douch to be cleaner. Especially after hummm....period or intercoarse. The obvious pro is you are cleaner....the cons is you can have a reaction to the douch.

You can always ask your mom or a doctor.

I don't douche and I don't stink...it's not necessary unless you over use the area and don't shower enough. I take a cleansing bath after my period and shower regularly. I don't understand douching unless you don't have proper hygiene.

douching after your period is the 1 time you should douch otherwise your body helps keep you clean
