first go to a store/online shop that sells computer mics (and other computer parts) and buy a computer mic

bring it home, and look for a small jack in the (usually) back of your computer, usually pink in color, that is designated for the connection of a microphone.

take your mic out of the packaging and plug the plug into that mic jack

start your computer and use the mic as needed. to adjust volume, double click on the little speaker at the bottom right hand corner of the screen (the task bar) and adjust the microphone input on the mixer that pops up

good luck!

Get a mic.
See if your computer has an inbuilt sound card (most computers do have one). If yes,

Action 1: put the mic jack (generally pink clolor) into the pink hole of the sound card at the rear. Open programs, accessories, entertainment, volume control and unmute the mic cehckbox, use your mic.

If it does not have a sound card you need to buy a sound card, put it in the PCI slot of the computer, restart the computer, put the sound card CD into the CD rom drive. Click yes yes yes...the sound card will be installed.

Now perform Action 1

Good luck

you need a simple 1/8th inch plug on a mic and look for the mic input, usually on the middle or lower front of your pc. However, you need to use a program or software to use a mic on like, sound recorder on your pc. Many trial recorders are on download.com

Easy: look on the back of your computer. You should see some stickers with pictures on them for the monitor, keyboard, speakers....etc. Look for the picture of a microphone and the port (hole) near it. There you go.

If your mic is a USB connected one, simply find the USB port and connect it there.
