People are simply jealous.
Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
With 6 weeks left to play The Red Sox are still in the thick of things.
3 games is nothing to sneeze at. That could very easily be made up in matter of days.

Obviously Mary, you've missed the past few weeks, when the Red Sux have tanked it against everyone except Baltimore, but then again the Orioles can never beat the Red Sux.
Why call them that? Because it pisses their fans off, whose skin appears to be so thin they can't take a jab. Amazing that they declare themselves so different from the Yankees, yet they operate the same way - buying the title. Ironic that they have the second highest payroll in baseball, yet they have the same number of titles in the last couple of years as the team who was fifth in the AL in payroll last year, which built its team the way you're supposed to, with home-grown talent, timely trades, and castoffs from other teams (hey, Yanks, thanks for Contreras).
Surprised they haven't dubbed themselves America's Team yet (if they can ever get the Braves to stop calling themselves that).
Oh, yes, pity us as the underdog to the Evil Empire, but ignore the fact that we spend $125 million a year on our team, almost as much as the rest of the AL East outside of New York.
Yeah, right.

Some people are just ignorant and disrespectful. It's the same reason some people wear the Y-H Hat....for Yankee Hater.
All of the men who play professional baseball are talented or they wouldn't have made it to where they are. Every player has an off day and every player has really awesome days.
We all have a team that we support, but that doesn't mean we have to be disrespectful towards other teams, their players or their fans.
I think some people are disrespectful because:
A. They lack manners
B. They are mad that another team is ahead of their team
C. They wish players from other teams were on their team
D. They are jealous because they can't play professional ball.
E. They just need to grow up

IMO, its a response to the "Yankees Suck" crap we hear from the Sux fans all the time. Do the Yankees really suck? Of course not, and they know it. It just makes them feel better about their misery.

The Yankees are the best team money can buy. Do you think Steinbrenner is goin to explode this year when the Yankees lose again. I can't wait. I do not like the Yankees, but I need them to make baseball more interesting. Go Mariners?

Because they went 86 years without winning, that doesn't make you good. Meanwhile, the Yankees won 26 in that time frame.
Ouch, does the Truth Hurt?

because people are haters. They can only praise their teams and can't appreciate the abilities of other teams.
