I was in 8th grade. I left my first class, and went to my second period one: band. I started getting out my baritone, then I noticed that the TV was on. The teacher told us that the towers had been hit. She had us put away our instruments, and we watched in complete silence. A few minutes later the pentagon was hit.
We were 13 and 14 years old. We did not understand the full implications of what was happening, but we knew that it was big.

It was moving day, and the engine on my car blew in the early am. Was feeling very stressed & frustrated as had the movers coming. While standing at the auto rental counter, I saw the replay of the first plane strike, and asked what movie it was. They said no movie was on, that was the TV news. They turned around to look too and we all stood there in disbelief.
I decided that the blown engine was not such a big deal afterall.
I called my Dad, who was old enough to remember the hysteria after the radio show of "war of the worlds;" he was certain it was something like that, some TV show.
If only it were so.

First I heard about the pentagon. My Moms said they will probably hit other places.
I went to school and I was in my 2nd class for the day.
The teacher, a sub, had turned on the TV. He said that they hit the World Trade Center. And honestly, I never really payed attention to these things, and so I didn't even know what he was talking about. Then on the TV, I noticed that there were a lot of people in there, it felt like a ton of bricks hit me. I didn't do anything but just sat there. I just watched the smoke. I am sorry to those who lost loved ones.

I remember waking up and laying in bed listening to the news. I hit me that they were saying that the Twin Towers had been hit and as I looked at the TV they showed the first plane then went to the host when he said that another plane had hit the other tower. I yelled for my mom (I had stayed at her house that night) and we watched the news for the next couple of hours. It was 4 days before my 25th birthday. I cried when I thought about all the people who would need help (I worked at a hospital) and how many would not be reached in time to help.

It was right before my first year at college. I hadn't even started school yet. Both my parents were at work, my sister was at work. And my best friend was coming over to finish watching these movies we had rented the night before. I turned on the TV to watch Sally and she wasn't on. I didn't even think to sit and find out why but as I got up and started to flip I noticed it was on every channel and I sat and watched. It was eerily quiet that day I lived at the time about 15 miles from an airport reserve. So it was strange to have the neighborhood so quiet. I called my friend and asked her if she was sure she wanted to come over and she still did. I was in utter shock about what happened. I didn't watch every hour, but when we finished watching the movies I would turn it back on. It was so hard to sit and watch that and that night after everything had happened and the towers fell, my friend and I were on the phone trying to find something to watch. And we ended up watching ABC Family A Very Brady Christmas, or something like that. I was still in shock that night when I went to bed. It was just so surreal.

I was getting ready for school. ( I was in my sophomore year in high school) I went into my mom's room to ask her something and she was on the phone with my grandmother. I just glance at the TV while she was talking on the phone, and saw the smoke from the World Trade Center. My mother was saying it is almost like we are being attack. I was in disbelief at first, I thought it was just an accident. Later, at school the principal announce that were under attack. I remember a few teachers trying to go on with regular studies, except my history teacher who just let us watch the news. I was sad, but I did not cry. I guess I was just to shocked to cry.

I was watching TV while I was making last minute preperations for my wedding (which was planned for and took place on 9/15/01 just four days after.). When I saw it I got very sad and all I could think was "I knew Bush would lead us into disaster, this is exactly why I didn't vote for him!" Once they blamed Al-Quida and Ossama Bin-Ladden I also knew he would somehow turn this around into a way to finish his father's war and look what he's done! I also worried about my husband because he's a Muslim from Egypt. I was afraid to let him go to work that day or that year for that matter.

I was in college at the time. When I returned from my shower, my roomate and everyone else on our floor had their TVs on and were watching the towers burning. One of my friends was sobbing and desperately trying to call her parents in New York. I called my parents immediately and asked if our friends in NY were alright, but they didn't know. They had tried to get through, but couldn't.
The rest of the day was a daze. I went to some of my classes, but few people showed up that day. All of our classes had the TVs on, and Professors and other students were really supportive of each other, and particularly supportive of the students who had family or friends in New York.
We eventually found out that our friends were ok, but some of my friends knew people who died that day. Any killing of innocents is unjustifiable and cold-blooded, no matter whether you're a terrorist group or a recognized government.
