I'm about to start a job, I'm really a second shift person, but I'm willing to work first whichi s what is immediately available. My friend and I have talked about how the mornings however go by really fast, is there any scientific evidence of any part of the day giong by the fastest to humans? I would assume because in the morning you are in tip top shape, everything seemingly goes by fastest. As I said, I'm not a morning person but i'm in debt. Should I hold out for a second shift position which seems comfortable, wake up at 2 and be @ work by 3 to be home by midnight, or should I wake up with my parents each morning, eat breakfast with them (i'm also like suicidally depressed in the mornings) but after the first breakfast look forward to a quikly passing day. I also have anxiety problems which could factor into this, and so i'm getting a predictable factory job as suggest in a previous post, what do you think? Spiritualists are good people so i'll post it here.

The part of the day that goes by the fastest is while you sleep. Other than that as the old saying goes as long as you are busy time flies.

For me, the first shift goes by fastest. But it actually depend on your mood and how you really spend or do the things you regularly do during that part of the day.

But for adjusting yourself to another shift, try putting your attention on your work instead. That way you won't have to worry about how fast or slow the time goes by. Eat breakfast everyday -- it normally gives a pleasant mood to start your day.

I am with you!! I loved the 2nd shift.....the graveyard shift was ok....but the 2nd shift is what my body felt most comfortable with.

I now work M-F 8-5 and I really feel my mornings, from 8am - 12 noon go by the fastest.

I Love to sleep Late, If I had a job I would take the late shift so I could sleep all day.. It seems you don't have that option you need the job.. So suck it up for now until you pay your debt.. Good Luck!!

I find that the time of day doesn't matter to me, its keeping busy and not being able to look at a clock that help the day go by for me. As for the scientific evidence i'm not sure, but i'm sure someone will post about it.

I always have the feeling that the mornings go by quickest (regarding only the hours I am @ work). I get most my work done in the morning. Good luck in your new job !
