I got a recipe from the net that had a tablespoon of Welch's grape jelly and water with 2 teaspoons of boric acid powder. It worked like a charm. I put it in a straw on the counter.

What I then used is a Gormet Ant Bail Jel to kill sweet loving ants that comes with a syring and you just shoot a little down the cracks you see them at and they take it to the nest.
I tried the boric acid solution in a pest control book but the ants wouldn't go near it. They stay away from boric acid and can smell it a mile away. So if you want to kill the colony, try the jel.
Since you asked though, mix 1 tablespoon boric acid with 3 oz strawberry jelly and 1 1/2 tablespoon cheap catfood.

Here is a tip I received about a week ago. I have not tried it but check it out. Try sprinkling the contents of packets of NutraSweet or Equal which contain Aspartame which is an artificial sweetener. You may have to lightly sprinkle the areas with some water or, in the case of small black ants, mix it with apple juice and sprinkle that mixture about.I am told it works on all types of ants both inside the home and outside as well and even works on Fire Ants. Supposedly, Aspartame was originally developed as an ant poison! Good Luck!

Place a bay leaf in different locations throughout your kitchen. Including inside your cupboards and drawers (1 per shelf & 1 per drawer). I put them behind various kitchen appliances and nick nacks that are on top of my counters.

If you have cats that like to jump up onto your kitchen counters, the bay leaves won't make them sick. I know people who sprinkle baby powder along the areas where ants like to travel, but then you can't really keep your kitchen counter tops very clean without accidentally getting the stuff wet.

Be sure to change each bay leaf every month or so, the smell of the bay leaf won't be as strong after a while and this is what the ants don't like (the smell of bay leaf). It works!!!!

Boric acid works very , very well, just powder it down and the ants will be gone. Aspartame works great too( that's right Aspartame the sugar substitute, kills them dead, last s a long time).

First keep your kitchen clean if they have nothing to eat or drink (yes dry out your sink as well and use a toothbrush to clean around the drainage ares) this may cut them out. If this doesn't work go outside to see the trail they are following it may be from a bush against the house or following a water spicket in. We had to dig up all of our roses and other flowers to get rid of our ants but it did work.

1/3 cup sugar

put solution into glass jar with cotton balls

First, clean your kitchen of spills. If they have nothing to eat, they won't come around. Go to Home Depot and buy a gallon bottle of the insect killer. The fumes of that stuff is less stinky than Raid. Spray the perimeter of your kitchen with the insect killer. Then watch for new attacks from different entry points. Fight with them for about a week and they'll back off and leave you alone.

You have to be like the sniper. Make them give away their position. Leave something you don't care about out and trace the path. Then put one of them Grant's Ant Poisons ($3 at Walmart) in the path. Dead ants.

boric acid works on any pests, if you can figure out what to use for bait, however, for ants , I usually use traps, the Aspertame one is new to me, I will give it a try !
