A degree now would be very beneficial in the long run, especially in how to manage her money! She can attend part-time and complete it over a short period. Considering she earns $70k (and assuming that there are very little other expenses) paying for college should be easy.

It probably wouldn't hurt to at least take some online courses or a few courses at her local college. Plus it would be a good idea to set up a savings account and put money in it bit by bit and never touch it unless there's an emergency . Also she should try and find out what courses would be good for her to take to advance in the field she's in.

What's her job?

It all depends on how secure her current employment is.

Either way it doesn't hurt to take some time off to study for her degree. A plus will always be a plus.
