No. I recently went looking for a portable AC and bought one. But all air conditioners generate a lot of heat and it needs to be vented outside. There's an incredible amount of hot air blasting from the air conditioner and it wouldn't do any good to have it vented into your home.

Laura is absolutely right. There are some portable products on the market that promise to cool the room, but actually they don't work like an A/C does.

Its not possible.

A/C's just move the heat from one place to another. They take heat out of your room and vent it outside.

Your fridge does the same thing, taking heat out of the food compartment and venting it out through that metal grate on the back. Feel it sometime....its always warm.

So in either case the heat needs some place to go.....
