Yes, I truly believe kids try to grow up way too fast these days. What's even more sad is that they'll hit 25 and realize they missed out on a childhood. I don't think I grew up too fast because there were some things that I just did not want to be exposed to.

Yes, and yes. In addition to TV with satelite, kids have the added distractions of the computer, cell phones, pagers, and blackberries. They are surrounded with ways of getting and receiving information, though ... do they get the "right" information? Drugs do seem to get worse over time. Chrystal meth., heroin with something laced in it that could kill you, and ecstasy.
Bad influences when I was younger were movies, cable TV, some friends, gentle home rules. (There were no cell phones, no home Internet, no Blackberries, no MySpace, etc.) There was a divorce in my family--a story of so many. I was straightened out (by myself) by eighteen and a half because I had to help pay for college. I didn't have time to party like my friends.
I think kids should graduate high school by 16. Then, they can go on to trade school, college, or work. I think kids get into some of the trouble they do because they are bored in school. Maybe a job would be better than going to school each day just to "hang out?"

Oh most definitely. I have have 4 granddaughters 8-15 and they all think they are grown and 3 of them look the part. They know more about sex than I knew when I got married. I think it is a shame that they will never really know the fun of being a child. They spend too much time learning to be a hottie or sexy. I blame parents for that.

only if the parents allow it.
I was lucky and when my parents became unable to care for me because of free love and drugs I had grandparents to step in. so I was allowed to be somewhat sheltered and free at the same time.
