I have been taking ON7/7/7 for almost 2 weeks and today I took 2 amoxicillin antibiotic pills before the nurse contacted me to let me know it can effect the pill. If I discontinue the amoxicillin now will I still need to use a backup method? (My honeymoon is the 24th)

If you can't change your antibiotic prescription, ask your doctor about using the pills vaginally while taking the antibiotic. It sounds weird, but some pills can be inserted vaginally and still work and because it is considered a more direct absorption, the antibiotic is unable or less like to interfere. however ASK YOUR DOCTOR and don't just take my word for it, as some pills will not work at all vaginally. Alternatively, you might be able to switch to the patch or vaginal ring without having to use an alternative method. Asking the doctor or nurse is your best and Safest bet.

good luck.

YES you will still need a back up method of birth control.

DON'T STOP your antibiotics!!!

MAKE sure you eat YOGURT OR DRINK 100% Cranberry Juice so you don't get a Urinary Tract Infection. Antibiotics CAUSE these!!!

it would probably be advisable to use a backup, amoxycillin tablets usually have a product information leaflet in the box which tells you this. you might need the antibiotic for an important reason. see your doctor about changing the antibiotic.
