In spite of what you may think, you will die of embarrassment if you blow a line, however, you may be embarrassed. Once you realize that the worse thing that can happen is not that bad, half the battle is over.
Prepare for you part. Memorize you lines and practice. React to lines that your fellow actors give you and the situation at hand to keep the performance fresh. The more comfortable you are in the knowledge of the role, the more confidence you will have which means less anxiety.
Don't get rid of all the butterflies, it is part of the experience. Even the most experience actor suffers from stage fright, once the performance starts, the focus and training take hold. Consider yourself a Thoroughbred just before the big race. Once the gate opens and the race starts, the performance will flow until the finish.

It will be okay...I had it before I got on the stage the first time...everyone does even some of the best actors in the world still get stage fright, just try not to think about it, once you get out there and get into your part you will forget all about it :) Good Luck! oh and Break a Leg ...lol

There is no simple way, but I feel, you should try following steps-
1. Grab opportunities to go on to Dias or stage. One hardly gets.
2. Think all other people are stupid at least as much as you are. But remember, many are more than you. Because you are doing yahoo answer.
3. Look into the eye of one of the front spectator. Feel like you are talking to him.
4. Prepare well before you speak.
5. Always listen and observe similar situations. Get ready for odd events.
6. If still nervous, speak to yourself by closing your eyes which appears to be opened.
Try it, you will get it. Otherwise, Read my Unlearn fundas at iiuindia.com. Enjoy!

Turn your stage fright into "stage energy". The best way to confront fears is to deal with them head on. The more experience you get the better you will be at dealing with this. Many great performers get stage fright - its how they deal with it that makes them great performers (in part). Just remember this: "The audience wants you to win", and I hope that helps.

The only way I get over it is by being on stage. After my first few lines or moments on stage I just think it's ever going fine or badly already. I just get comfortable on stage.

Stop focusing on yourself. The point of being on stage is to give the audience a gift. Focus on the gift and the audience, that will get you out of your head and away from your ego.

opt to do props instead or just run on stage and laugh like a maniac or you could just run around the stage naked

as what i have learned from our psych class..there is a theraphy we called desenzitisation..its literally facing your fears..practice yourself going to stage with some of your friends as your audiences.. then gradually exceed your limit by facing more crowd that is not related to you..dont forget to pray..its your best weapon..
