What do I say? What is my motivation for taking a doctorate in business/finance? I really want to get a doctorate because I want to teach MBA in the local university, but I think that is a lame excuse. I really want to do a doctorate since it just simply fulfills me. But I need a more substansive motivation. I currently work in the corporate world as a Strategic Planning analyst. Please, I need real answers.

I suggest you find examples of such essays; they should be available on the web. Then use the good old 5-paragraph essay where you bring up three valid reasons and link them together to explain and expound on your aspirations. Piece of cake. You got this far, didn't you!!!???
