I don't have a funny opinion because I thought that was the first time that Sasuke showed that he had deep feelings for Sakura. I think Sasuke did develop feelings for Sakura. Sasuke goal is to kill his brother and he didn't want anyone around to change his mind or get in his way. He was saying thank you to her because she always showed unconditional love and dedication to him regardless of what he does. He knew that there is a chance that who he will be associating with and himself could be killed on his quest and wanted to keep Sakura out of harm's way. Also, Sasuke knew that by obtaining ultimate power he wanted meant he would be filled with hatred and he would not be able to give Sakura what she always wanted from Sasuke and that is love.

The reason why:
The truth is Sasuke said thank you for understanding how i feel and letting me do whatever I want. But in his mind Sasuke knows Naruto will try anything to stop Sasuke from going to Orochimaru. Thats why Sasuke said thank you to Sakura, for letting him go.(Sasuke IS developing feeling for Sakura but Sasuke feels she will get in the way and will get hurt by others and he doesn't want to see that.)
Sakura meant "i don't care where your going or what you're doing, all i want to do is be with you forever and stand by your side, thats why I love you.
Such a sad moment..sinff..sniff...T_T

well no i actually think that sasuke do like sakura my point is that...he's basically suiciding in order to kill his bro right...so he doesn't want sakura or naruto here,...cuz then they might die too...and also it'll be really bothersome to linger her around...especially if she's a burden and practically useless...however later on she gets' like really strong...and sasuke is not gay...can't be...
