Your joints are popping, not snapping bones. They do this for many reasons.
The popping in a joint is technically known as cavitation, and it is the result of a sudden decrease of pressure within the joints as the ligaments stretch.
Your joints can also pop because they become hypermoblie, and it's a compensation for the immobile joints near them.
It could be the ligements or tendons slipping over a ridge in the bones.
You may also have tears in your ligements. If you feel any pain or discomfort from the popping, then go to a chiropractor, orthopedic doctor, or someone qualified to diagnose your problem.

The purpose of doing leg raises is to strengthen and tighten your lower abdominal muscles. So many times those surrounding muscles are not strong enough so when people strain to do leg raises often times bones or joints tend to hurt around the "hip" area. Don't focus on going as high as you can when doing leg raises. Pull your legs up just above the floor and do your leg raises till you strengthen your muscles. Note: make sure you breath out when putting your legs down and breathing in while going up. You will feel your muscles tighten and flex and will know when you can do more. People also have a tendency to arch their back when doing leg raises. Make sure your back stays flat and firm on the ground. If needed, gently place your hands under your bottom to support you. Leg raises are so effective if they are done correctly, if not, as you have experienced can be really painful. Enjoy your little work out!

It's probably not a bone or a joint, but rather a ligament slipping uncomfortably. You have probably overworked that area and not stretched enough before doing the leg raises. You have to "prepare" your body for exercise. Go to a yoga site, especially a Dahn Hak site.
