If you start in kingston, you can arrange for a guided hike to the Blue Mountain peak. It's and overnight trip though because you start hiking at about 2am in order to get to the top at sunrise. It took us a little over 5 hours to the top and a little over 3 hours down. You need durable hiking boots for that hike because our sneakers were painful on the toes on the descent down (steep in some parts of the trail).
I didn't see any RVs on the island. You can rent an suv or a car and have a great time driving around the island yes, but some of the roadways are narrow one-lane each way and the taxi drivers are a bit too aggressive. if you are not experienced enough in tight driving conditions and driving on the right side instead of on the left like in the US, then I advise taking a taxi or mini-bus.
You can drive around the island in about two days (including sight-seeing stops), but with only six days it may be a bit tight to squeeze in. I suggest you try out kinkston area and a trip to Ocho Rios can be plenty fun too. From Kingston you can go to the hot-spring (yes really hot water oozing out the mountain) mineral bath in St. Thomas Parish and enjoy a nice massage. You can visit Hellshire beach and dine at one of the many food vendors there while taking in some nice rays and enjoying the beach.
You can also visit the old fort in port Royal where the 'Giddy House' is located (giddy because you are supposed to feel giddy when you walk through because the house is slanted). Bob Marley's museum is a must see in Kingston. You pay one cover charge and you get a tour of the Reggae Legend's old living quarters and a brief film on his life (it is worth the trip). Devon House a cool hangout with shopping and sometimes live shows is also nearby the Marley Museum.
In Ocho Rios you have to climb the famed Dunns River waterfalls. It's a little over 900 feet but not steep. The water is refreshingly cold! The Dolphin Cove where you can interact with the dolphins are located in Ocho Rios. Check out the CHUKKA tours too, they have a lot of fun stuff like river tubing, tree gliding, horse-back riding...etc. Ahhhhh...rafting on the Martha Brae is one of my best experiences. This is in the Trelawny area (between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay). It is a tranquil bamboo rafting experience!
In Negril area (opposite end of island from Kingston) there are lots of cool stuff to do there too. The famed Ricks Cafe is there where you can go enjoy a nice meal, drinks and take in the sunset, or if you are a bit adventurous like me you can jump off the cliff into the crystal blue waters (lifeguards present).
Some of the resorts that I stayed at are Point Village in Negril (my favorite), FDR Pebbles in Trelawny a really cool resort, Holiday Inn in MOBAY and FDR in Runaway Bay. All these resorts are really cool with great staff and ample activities daily and at dimmer time.
The current exchange rate on the US dollar is about $65.5 Jamaican. You can shop with Jamaican, US, Canadian, Euro, Pounds, EC or credit cards.
I hope you have a great trip! :)

No you can't rent RV's in Ja. The roads are too narrow and bad shape. Someone said renting a boat to get to the diff. islands. Jamaica is only 1 island. We always find a cab driver. There are tons at the airport. I would say you can do the Blue mountains, Port Antonio, South Coast easily in 1 day (1 place per day) so thats 3 days. Negril, Mobay and Ochi are on the other sides from Kingston and they can be done in 1 day, but most of your time will be spent in a car. If this is you first trip to Ja. DO NOT rent a car. You will see why when you get there. They drive like crazy fast on bad roads. You will love jamaica! We go every year. Check out Marley's house in Kingston. South Coast is very laid back and not a lot of tourists. Remeber to RELAX . You are on vacations. Try not to cram too much into your schedule, you'll be sad when you don't get it all done.

i wouldn't rent an rv. stay in hotels. spend the night in an all inclusive. give them an address in jamaica and get a jamaican resident special (of course get someone with an accent to make the reservation), they have good deals. keep your bracelet and you can go back to the hotel throughout the day for more free food.
some places can be pretty dangerous, starting with kingston so stay safe. you definitely have to go to montego bay, ocho rios, port antonio and negril. no trip to jamaica is complete without a trip to dunns river falls in ocho rios.

Lajalouise1 has it right and she even mentions a few of the Kingston sights. There are no RVs for rent, best to hire a taxi driver to take you around. Yes you can rent a car but the "shotta drivers" would probably be too much for you. We do have speed limit signs of course but hey "shotta dont take check".

Go to Dunn's River Falls in Ochos Rios. You'll need a boat to go from island to island, unless you have $$ and take a helicopter.
