You were hit from behind, no matter what the driver of the other car is at fault. Was the other driver insured, and if so, settle it with there insurance agency. Another thing, no matter what don't admit fault. Make sure you get a fare price for the damages or the cost of the car. If you don't, sue the hell out of them, they were asking for it. You gave them a chance to settle.

Man people are dumb.....
What your daughters friends mom wants to do is her business and will have nothing to do with your insurance.
Sounds liek you were not at fault, and that you were hit from behind. The other driver will probably get a "driving too close" fine and your insurance will persue his insurance for the damages to your vehicle.
Wont cost you a thing other than a little time talking with your insurance company. Dont worry...easy as pie.
NO you dont have to sue as well just to help her...if you dont want anything other than a fixed car thats what you'll get. The two things have nothing to do with one another and she will have to go about it her own way.
Dont worry chicky, no hassles and problems will come to you if you just do the right thing and only take what you need. Dont fall under the "AMERICAN WAY" trap and sue anyone for anything.

Let the insurance companies even up for the medical bills if any and the automobile repair/replacement. If you don't have proven physical damages you will spin alot of energy & the legal fees will take most of the winnings. If you have proven physical damages that will result in loss wages etc it may be worth it to sue for that. Otherwise it's just people shooting their mouths off, not that you won't find an atty to take the case.
Don't decide now until the acute musculoskeletal problems subside, that may be as long as a couple weeks. Then reassess.
Remember, being stupid or being a jerk or making bad decisions or being rude or dumb or whatever will not make you win in court. Tell your friend to cool off until the need for ibuprofen is gone, then see if there is any grounds for a suit.

To quote Fred Sanford's friend Bubba when Fred was hit from behind, "You sittin' on top a gold mine." But seriously, you need to look at the website below and then perhaps see a personal-injury lawyer for a free initial consultation. Good luck to you.

She really can't sue unless her child was hurt. If no one was hurt all you can get is your car fixed.
