Everyone so far has answered that they have a "sex", they never addressed your question of whether they have a "gender". These two are completely different things.

Fish have a "sex" in which they are biologically male or female.

However, I can't tell you if they have a gender because then you would get into the topic of can fish talk to each other and have distinct personalities. Gender of course means that you act feminine or masculine.

yes they do . The female is the one who lays the eggs then the male comes and fertilizes the eggs..Some fish can switch there gender so it might be hard

Yeah. Some look the same but you can tell by the placement of the itty lil fins underneath. Some look way different like bettas. Male bettas are known as the chinese (I dunno why) fighting fish and are really colorful with long pretty tails. The female bettas are really boring looking and don't fight.

fish belong to a class of animals whose characteristic is to change their gender to mate. the fish are born males , they change into female after two years to mate

yes they do! just like you! hehehe if fish lays eggs, its absolutely female!.. or you can identify them with their characteristics, their fins, tails,... male fishes are more attractive.

wow good question, ive never thaught of that. um i think they do my fish had fish babies and im pretty shore that it was a girl.
