Hi! I'm a petite Asian girl, I can be very shy when I first meet people, and I have a problem with involuntarily blushing.
Sometimes when I speak to large crowds, or even when a guy gets really close to me and looks at me, I blush! Agh! It's so embarassing. For example, this one guy started talking to me and I turned bright red. . .And even worse, I don't even like him! I can't control my blushing!
Speaking in front of people is already hard for me, but when I blush it only adds to my awkwardness. . .I just want to hide!
Does anyone have any tips on how to control blushing?

I can't really think of a rational cause for embarassment, I just involuntarily blush.^_^;;
Actually, I probably blush during public speaking due to the large amount of eyes that are focusing on me. . .As for the guy thing, I don't know. Maybe my shyness? But it happens with random guys.

i don't know how you can stop it,
i would not worry,
you probably are too self conscious
you probably look adorable,
i am serious,
besides, that is you.
MAYBE YOU SHOULD ENTERTAIN THE THOUGHT THAT THAT IS A PART OF YOU THAT IS UNIQUE, AND CERTAINLY NOT UGLY, OR DISTASTEFUL.
MAYBE YOU CAN RE THINK YOUR FEELINGS ON IT, AND SAY YOUR PRAYERS AND BE GRATEFUL THAT YOU HAVE A LITTLE EXTRA ??ESSENCE, AND HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH, AND JUST RELAX, AND ACCEPT THIS PART OF YOUR NATURE AS A GIFT, NOT AS A DEFECT.
GOOD LUCK

I hate to say this, but I think it's something completely uncontrollable.
This dilation of the blood vessels is involuntary. Stress can increase the activity in the autonomic nervous system....
Normally, the intensity and frequency of blushing peaks in teenage years and decreases with age. However, even very old people can blush, and the amount of blushing varies greatly between individuals.
So, perhaps you can work on reducing your stress in situations where you get nervous. Practice speaking in front of people- a lot- and you'll get comfortable. Maybe join ToastMasters?
(They help you learn how to be a good public speaker, even if you can't say two words in front of a crowd. It's a great life-skill.)

It is not possible to stop yourself from blushing really.
Blushing is caused by the capillaries in the face opening, allowing more blood closer to the skin on the face, which gives it a more red appearance. This happens whenever the nervous system is set into an "overload" of emotion.
The only way to stop from blushing is to be more comfortable in more situations. To do this, try putting yourself in embarassing situations on purpose more often. Like, when you get into an elevator, stand facing people instead of towards the door. Make them look at you by looking at them. By making yourself the center of the attention, you're forcing your nerves to become, over time, more used to embarassing situations.
I'm a blond, nearly redhead, which means my capillaries are kinda close to the surface of the skin, I blush more. It's a tough one to overcome.

hi, im chinese and a proud asain, and i know girls that do the same thing. i imagined this in my point of view of talking to someone like u and i found out all u have to do is to say what u think of the person when u blush and why u blush. if ur shy just smile at them and do it to other people so some guy wouldnt think that u favor him only and this will help people think of you as a nice person. another way is to go to a different county and start yelling at people and pretend your mad so u stop blushing and it will make u feel better

This is normal for many people whether your a guy or girl. Its all mental and does not take much time to learn but is hard to explain. Just get into the mindset that you just dont care what people think, and try to think of something cold or redirect the hot you feel just before you think you are going to blush to another part of your body. Told you it was hard to explain.

Well, what's causing the embarrassment? Are you afraid you're going to "screw up" or something? Where does that come from?
