Sure, it's cool to score over 12 pts on a single play. But an equally good WR from a different team will score just as many pts as yours, they'll just happen to come at different times. At the end of the season, a WR who put up slightly more pts than other will have done slightly better for you than that guy, regardless of the team. So what difference does it make?

I just ask because I know guys with plenty of experience and FF knowledge who still trot this out as a truism, so maybe there's something to it?

For it to work you have to have a great combo. I had McNabb/TO 2 years ago and it was great. I see your point though a whole year the one WR might score more but if you play in a head-head league when your QB and WR can hook up for like 2TD's that is a huge advantage. Another way to look at combos is to have the QB and RB from the same team that will score a lot. Just because everytime the offense scores your are almost always guaranteed a score. A good example this year will be Trent Green and Larry Johnson or Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselback 2 high scoring teams

It's double-edged sword; when it works it's great but when it fails, it could cost you a victory.

If you just happen to pick a QB/WR combo because you felt those players were the best fit for your team when your draft pick came around, then don't worry about. It's justified. If you deliberately picked the combo and passed over better players because that's your strategy, then I don't think that's a good move.

i might commerce a million of them. Its astonishing to have a QB WR connection yet its so plenty greater stable in case you have the two WR's. i might attempt to commerce the two Fitz for yet another WR and you will relatively get greater desirable than that. Boldin is gonna be greater stable to commerce, yet you probably can get a precise 15 wr for him.

well if you gotta qb and wr with chemistry then id think thats good news...also, the star wide receivers are great but the really good underrated ones are the best for your FF teams cuz they are double covered like the big stars are

I try to stay away from this. If my QB has a bad game, I don't want it to affect other positions on my team. However, itf it's someone like Manning and Harrison, I'd take them all day.

I guess it's personal preference and how you view the risk/reward factor.
