You have my sympathy. I think you're between the proverbial rock and a hard place, if you've ever heard that phrase before.
She keeps doing it to you because you let her. You either have to be assertive and tell her you've had enough, or she'll continue to intimidate you. Can you think of any clever comment to come up with that would stop her? This is lame, but something like if you need a punching bag we can always go to the gym.
Does she come from a family not as well off as you and your friends? Maybe she's a bully because she needs the money for lunch or something.
You're right, unfortunately, that if you tell, she'll probably turn the other girls against you--unless she does it to them and when they see you stand up to her, they may side with you. Is there someone else that you & maybe she are close to that you could talk to about your problem?
I don't know if it will help, but read the book PLEASE STOP LAUGHING AT ME... by Jodee Blanco. It talks about bullies--and girls are the worst. Your local library and certainly a bookstore will have more books on this subject (it's being recognized by experts now as a prevalent problem in schools) that you can browse through and maybe find a solution.
I don't feel I've helped much, but I hope things work out for you.

You call that a friend? And no one in your "gang" will stand up for you? Sounds like you need a new circle of friends.

ditch her and make new friends. this time choose your friends carefully. i think you should also tell someone older than you are about your problem and ask for help. i think parents are the best people to talk to about this.
do not be afraid to stand up to others who put you down...

Dah, she's not your friend, she's an abuse, a user, and a loser. And you contribute to her behavior because YOU ALLOW IT. Dump the mutt.
