Why is it not legal in all states for the same sex to get married?

your guess is as good as mine. some people just can't get over the fact that you are gonna be with who you love whether they like it or not...people need to butt up out of other people's business...if they aren't gay that's fine, but it's not doing you any good to dislike gay people. you may as well just do your own thing and let them do their own thing and that is that...if they want to be married, more power to them. at least they found someone that truely loves them...that's just like if you found out your son or daughter was gay...wouldn't you rather them be with someone from the same sex that treats them like gold than with someone of the opposite sex who talks down to them or beats them???

One reason: religion. If we did not have religion to tell us what they think is right or wrong, we would not have this problem. The US was built on religion but then as time went on, it became about politics and people tried to keep religion out of the government. But the truth is, religion still plays a part in the government. If this weren't true, then same sex marriages WOULD be legal.

Because of the definition of marriage. Its a special contract of permanent union between a MAN and a WOMAN.
It doesn't matter whether you had a sex change or you dress like the opposite sex. Your being a male or female is determined by your chromosome. XX or XY. So unless a technology is developed on changing that or the legal definition of marriage is changed, there can be no marriage between two people of the same sex.

In your heart you know the answer. The conflict, the struggle for acceptance. Why should people discriminate against what has worked for millions of years? The difference between man and women contributing to the whole? No it should be legal as those who don't get this are taken out of the dating pool.

Marriage has always been for the procreation of children and their protection after birth. Gays don't normally procreate. Heterosexuals will not approve of gay marriages for that reason. Those of us born out-of-wedlock have a deep approval of marriage too, so we don't want the sanctity of marriage interfered with or twisted around. That's why we'll continue to make it illegal but allow them to call it a "legal union" or something other than "marriage."

marriage is between a man and a woman. there are domestic partner laws out there that make it easier on those couples who do not wish to be married or those couples that do not fall under the marriage standard.
