To be frank, the best age you should think of having sex the fist time is after marriage.
Do you know the seriousness of having pre-marital sex?
First, if you are used to having pre-marital sex, you may get infected by sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs). For all other viewers, if you had done this before, please go to the doctor. Most STDs will occur 2 weeks after sex. However there are those that will occur 5 years later. This STD is known as AIDS. AIDS cannot be cured and there will never be a cure. However, you may slow down the process at an early stage. But, it will still not cure AIDS.
If you get yourself pregnant after having sex, who are you to blame? You can blame the guy, see what do he care? He wouldn't want to accept the fat that it is his baby as he will be in deep trouble. Most guys will give excuses like that is not his baby and you must have slept with someone else. If you still try to deny that, usually he will scold you a sl*t and leave you.
When you have a baby, what are you going to do? Flush it down the toilet bowl? Go for an abortion? These is the same as killing a human life. Don't you agree? What if you don't want to kill it? Are you willing to bring shame to your family? What will your parents think of you?
Oh for most people out there, please get this facts right. CONDOMS DOES NOT PREVENT PREGNANCY. It really irritates when people keep on saying that condoms really helps, but in the end they too will get STD or the girl will get pregnant.
When you have married, and you have a child, the guy would want to keep the child because he had done vows before marriage.
So, the answer is, do not risk it. I have a lot of my friends in such positions and they do not know what to do. Some even committed suicide. If you don't love your life, think about the people around you or the baby you might get in the process.
The best is that, you think of your education first. You are only 13, that's not even 1/3 of your life gone. You have a long way to go, and a lot to learn. It is good that you ask questions here.

Well, I just had my first time and I'm 22.But if I could go back I would probably have done it with him a year after going out, which was 17, but I think that 13 is a rediculous age to have sex at, so sweety please take my advice.First grow up a little, you know form a chest and get your period.Secondly allways use protection. And last allways make love your first time with a guy who you know will be around and a guy who you know loves you and you love him.Virginity is a beautiful thing and you should only lose it to your lover and life long partner who will love and respect you no matter what. And no I'm not going to say wait till you are married because i'm not getting married until four months from now, but take care of yourself and preserve your virginity to someone who loves and understands you and a guy who will do anything for you. That is what i did and man am i proud!Take care be safe, and god bless!

If you are asking if you should be having sex, yet, then NO. Even if the average age were 13 (and it is NOT), then i'm sure everyone that answers this question would steer you away from doing this in the near future.
At 13, you are not capable of handling the emotions and depth that sex provide. It is meant for adults...
Besides... if you got pregnant, would you be ready to end your childhood right now?.. all for someone that probably dosn't even love you, but only wants to say he lost his virginity or lost YOUR virginity.
Give your love when your older, wiser and mature enough to really love someone.

I was 20. I am not saying wait till your married cause I wasn't but wait till you can handle the consequences of sex. If your not mature enough to talk to your parents or a doctor and get on birth control you probably shouldn't be having sex.

says it is just under 17 for boys, just over 17 for girls. thats the MEDIAN age in the USA, meaning that considers kids who start at 12 and people who wait til 25, so its a median not necessarily the norm
i think 15 is probably the typical age at least in California
this is a good site
