Wake up and read this carefully! Snoring can be a sign of a serious condition called sleep apnea, which means you stop breathing dozens or hundreds of times a night, and that is very hard on your heart and can even kill you. You need to go to a sleep clinic, and they will tell you if you have that or any other serious sleep disorder. (Those nasal "breathe rite" strips they sell at the pharmacy will not help your snoring if you have sleep apnea, but you could try them for one night and see if they help.) If you do have apnea, you'll need to use a machine to help you continue to breathe all night long. It's called CPAP, and most insurance will pay for it. CPAP users usually feel much better the first night they use the machine. It's a little awkward, but it's a life saver and a life enhancer.
Your primary care doctor can refer you to a sleep clinic. Do not delay!
Good luck.

People that have loud snoring problems have blocked nasal passageways. Helpful to lose weight, wear a nasal bandage thing, and to practice deep breathing techniques.

sleep on your side, use snoring nostril strips that help spread the nostrils to improve airflow, and talk to a DR. Also, cut back on beer and smokes prior to bed, and maybe even try a decongestant.

I heard if the person sleeps on his/her side, they won't snore. I haven't tried that weird thing that you stick on your nose to not snore, but it's worth a shot. :)

tell him to go on his side. put sugar in his mouth. ask him to sleep on two pillows, pinch his nose, or put a clothespin, give him some sedative, tell him to let you sleep first, so he won't bother you w/ his snoring.
