When you get to court, keep twirling around in circles constantly. If asked about you unusual behavior, say you are being followed by Zarquod the Space God, who everyone knows sneaks up from behind.

If you're really bent on getting out of jury duty (keep in mind that intentional avoidance of jury duty is illegal), just find a way to get yourself disqualified.
It's not being realistic to get "exempted forever". The one time every 5 years you get called, show up for the first half-hour or so. That's when they decide who's going to be on the jury.
There's a process known as "striking" the jury, where each lawyer asks questions to eliminate candidates. Answer one of the questions (any question will usually do) in a way that's not favorable to the lawyer asking it, and you're off.
I make no warranty, either expressed or implied, as to the legality or ethical quality of any of the above advice. It is, however, the truth.

maybe i am a nerd, but i would LOVE jury duty! thanks to my profession..it will never happen. but i don't see how something so important has been classified with the likes of going to the dentist, or taking a STD test. lol. it's your civic duty to serve on a jury (ok, now i'm sounding like my government affairs professor). but honestly, just go with an open mind. you never know what impact you can have on a person's life. do you think you are a good person? would you want a person like you to serve on a jury for YOUR case? if not, well...that doesn't mean tha you are useless for someone else! :)
where i work, the judges still have no mercy. they can usually tell when someone is fibbing to get out of jury duty. they typically make u stay for the duration of the trial if you use an excuse that you can't be fair and impartial. better excuses are those affecting medical problems, children, preplanned vacations, etc....

I believe that once you reach 65, jury duty is optional. People who have been convicted of a felony also can't serve on a jury. Certain medical conditions might get you out of it temporarily. Other than that, just hope your number is large enough that they won't need you to come in.

When they interview you, just be politically incorrect. Tell them that you are racially biased. (Even if you aren't) I've never been called for jury duty, and I am a registered voter, with a clean record. Maybe get registered, and then vote in November. Doing this may exempt you in the future.
Maybe if you commit a felony and get caught, might get you out of jury duty.
But that's a lot of trouble to go to, to get out of it.
It would probably be best to ignore the notice, and wait to see what happens.

Just think about it...................
