I just watched Almost Famous for the first time and it really had an impact on me. I was just great. Did anyone else feel the same after watching it?

I liked Almost Famous so much, I bought the legit "bootleg" DVD!!

The film put me back to the time when you read in Creem of how rock icons like Led Zeppelin trashed one hotel room and had an overflowing roomful of people in the next engaged in all sorts of hedonistic, cannibis fogged frolic and fun.

It was the day when folk music got amplified, and a teen rock fan got a golden ticket ride of an "comming of age" venture with a rising 70s rock band.....where he and his rival, the lead guitarist, learned lessons of respect, loyality and friendship along the way.

And I also saw the secondary parable of "don't judge a book's cover", deal with the political dynamics between the teen rock journalist and Rolling Stone editors, too.

If only for a week....I could spend time again during such a fun time in Rock n' Roll.

Awesome movie:
You have to rent the DVD and watch the behind the scenes.

Cameron Crowe's wife(Nancy Wilson) did all the music and its based on his real life working for Rolling Stone.

Peter Frampton did all the guitar teaching of Billy Crudrup and the other actors. He did a music camp and showed all of them how to play and sing the songs.

I loved the fact that is was really them singing and playing for Stillwater.

Love the music in the movie.

Absolutely loved it so much it did impact my life. Tiny Dancer, that scene on the bus just blew me away. I loved Kate Hudson's role as that free bird. But of course there's no free birds. we're all tied down. Cameron Crowe certainly led an amazing life. How lucky.

I really liked the movie. I can't say it had an impact on my life though. Just thought it was a real decent movie.

I tried the thing with listening to Tommy and staring at a candle that is mentioned in that movie.

Excellent movie. it is hard to believe that most of that was real but the names were changed.
