i have 2 unused simple set pool pumps. I am deciding to use them for my pond. Do they need to be primed. Will they not work in this application since they are above water level in the pond instead of them being below water level when connected to an above ground pool. they worked great when they were connected to the above ground pools. Any tips? thanks

They may if you put a foot (or check) valve on them so they don't lose their prime. But they are realy week pumps so don't expect much head.Yes they will have to be primed.
