I think that sometimes you may not be happy in the relationship and that other person just say things or do things that make you feel better at the moment. You just fall deep in the trap after that.

A very big question. There are as many answers as there are relationships out there. There are the pathological philanderers...repeat offenders, if you will. That is a different thing from the ones who find someone else and stays with them long-term. That is usually the result of issues in the marriage that have gone unchecked. People do fall out of love. And they fall in love without meaning to. The repeat ones...who have multiple relationships have issues that are entirely different, and they are much more heartbreaking cases than the ones who find companionship outside the legal relationship. What really should happen is that they should leave first, then get involved, but the world is not perfect, nor is anyone in it. If it's a long-term relationship, the cheated-on partner needs to end the marriage, because way before that other relationship happened, the marriage was over, but the person stayed out of obligation. There is no one answer to your question.

It depends. People will come up with all sort of reasons to justify their inappropriate behavior. Men will say...it's a biological thing...Women will say, my husband doesn't listen to me. He doesn't pay attention to me anymore. RIGHT! In fact, cheating signals the end of a relationship. Once people start cheating, they just can't stop.

I beleive it is a sickness in alot of people....There are so may reasons people say they cheat, but when it comes down to it, there are deeper issues at hand the individual cheating has not delt with in their life....

There are as many excuses as there are affairs, what it really boils down to is lack of maturity, poor impulse control and bad character.
