Being a huge Broncos fan with season tickets, my considered opinion is that Jake will have an excellent year, but it won't do much for him except raise his stock with other teams to negotiate a trade. Jay Cutler will be starting next year, or at the very latest, the year after that. I predict next year.

Jake Plummer will do fine, he had a great year last year, Denver is a team to watch definitely. Still can't believe they lost to Pittsburgh last year.
Jay Cutler is a highly touted rookie in whom many teams were not interested. There's a good chance that only 1 or 2 of the top ten draft choices from this past draft will amount to much in the league. Cutler could easily be the next Ryan Leaf.

If Jake has a good year, why would Cutler take over?
And the Broncos are not going to be the team to watch if we don't do something about our passing game. Rod's getting up there, Ashlie's still holding out, Javon Walker and Brandon Marshall are both hurting, Charlie Adams is now ninth, and Watts has been terribly inconsistent.
If we don't do something about receiving, who cares who we've got passing the ball.
As for the whole Jake/Jay showdown, I should hope that Shanahan gives Jake one more chance. He was a power house all last season, until that championship game when he just let everyone down. He was so close to proving himself. If he can't get it done this year, he should be gone. And I don't think Jay's ever going to be the starting QB for the Broncos. He'll get fed up and look for a different team before he'll be starting.

Personally i dont know why they took cutler or a quarterback so soon. I do understand maybe they thought plummer's season was a fluke. if jake cleaned up his game then they wasted a good pick on cutler. Plummer is just fine now that he realizes what happens when he protects the ball.

Jay Cutler, the #6? He has only played for one game, hasn't he? And it was against the Lions. I would prefer the dude from CSU get more chances to play. We'll see how Jay will do on the second preseason game. I think Jake the Snake will still be the man considering what he did last season.

They say that Jake folds under pressure. With Jay Cutler now there, a fire has been lit under Jake's butt. I expect him to freak out and go crazy with interceptions, eventually leading to Jay taking the lead spot.\
But for your scenario that he will do well...
He probably would take over sometime soon. That Javon Walker and Cutler combo is too good to keep under wraps for long. The long ball will be crazy.

Plummer will be good again. But I don't think they will get to the Superbowl. If it did happen, Shanahan would just do what happened in SD did with Brees, wait and then cut him the following year.

Cutler will take over if the Broncos have to play the Steelers again. The Steelers will kill the Snake this time, they darn near killed him & did smoke the Broncos the last time.
