No. They probably didn't like you and didn't want to hurt your feelings. Get over it.
I tell people it all the time so they stop bothering me.

I dont think I would be .. I mean if they told me they had a girlfriend its not like i would get in a relationship with them.
If it was the other way around though .. like if they did have a girlfriend and said they didnt well then i would be very mad.

I don't know if I would be pissed, maybe disappointed. They probably lied because they thought I would be the easiest way to get me off their back. Time to move on...

1st of all you have to ask ur-self, does this person want me to freak-out ? or get mad ? Then you have to ask ur-self 1 simple ? Are they worth the trouble of ruining ur day ? Don't let people get the best of u , you're better than that! Well aren't U ? don't go to their level always remember you are better than they as long as u dont sink to their level !

I wouldn't be mad, I'd have my feelings hurt. It hurts me when people try to lie instead of just telling the truth. I'd get over it quick and remember that the person in question obviously doesn't want to date me.

if they said they did and they didn't, they probably don't like you or want your advances.
if they said they didn't and really did, they do like you, but want to keep the other person on the side while they mess around with you.

no. he/she might not have been thinking cleary or wanted to make themselves feel better about not having one. give the person a break. especially if they might be going through a tough time.
