I sure wish I did! I wish that I had someone that I can get to know..Is there anyone else out there wish they had a "true friend"?

I had a best friend, or so I thought. She really has a lot of self-hatred and is a friend of convenience....she will befriend you when it's convenient to her. She, too, slept with anything that walked in middle and high school and wanted every guy that you were with. I recently found out, after 12 years now, that she slept with my ex-boyfriend before I did. I found this out from a very reliable source....a friend, whom I just came to know after she moved away several years ago. She lives about 45 miles from me and I only have one car so visiting more often isn't an option. I do call her my best friend as we have kids about the same age. The only problem is she's so busy. She's a Mom, wife, salon owner, landlord, homeowner, and musician. I don't know how she does it, but we do squeeze in about three or four hours to see each other three or four times a year. I do text her daily...I hope that she doesn't think that I am a pest. Thanks for letting me vent. :)

I used to wish for a best friend, and feel lonesome all the time. I found out it was because I had a problem with depression. When I was prescribed medication for that problem, I started to like myself better, and that, in turn, attracted more people to me. I could care less if I have a best friend any more, because I enjoy my own company. However, I do have a best friend. Sometimes I would rather be on my own, because I find it hard to be nice all the time and want my space.
I'm rambling, so I'll submit this.

I know what you mean. I had someone like that once and they turned on me and I ended the friendship. True friends are not mean to each other.

yeah... i mean i have alot of good friends and everything, but i wish i had ONE best BEST friend who was like my family and who i know would always be my best friend.
