Dark skin is an evolutionary adaption to protect against skin cancer in places of strong sunlight. Very light skin is an evolutionary adaption so that the skin can absorb enought sunlight to produce sufficient Vitamin D in areas of very little sunlight. Vitamin D deficiency causes the disease rickets (weak and deformed bones).

You are pretty smart. The African continent is where it all began. People migrated from there and ended up looking the way that we see them presently. People had to adapt to different climates and this is why we all look differently. Believe it or not, we all originated in Africa. I truly believe that the Garden of Eden is there as well. Not true, that's like saying there are no yellow people or red people etc. *****, means black. There is nothing better or worse about having one pigment color or another, except, black people are much less likely to contract melanoma, there are always positives to everything. And skin color is no exception.

I like ya all ready !!!!! if only the world knew that I hate to be called black I mean some black people are not even close to the color black!!!! i mean it's like they are calling ya( black) why we got ta be called BLACK !!!!!!BLACK!!!!! I MEAN WHATS UP WITH THAT AN SOME OF US ARE NOT AFRICAN AMERICAN OR AFRICAN SOME OF US ARE MIXED!!! SO HOW CAN WE EVEN CALL ARE SELF THAT !!!!! I mean some of us are dark an some are light why can't people leave it at that that's all I'M SAYING!!!
